Make a Difference in someone's life.
Soul-Care for your Members
The human condition involves many opportunities for people to hurt and suffer. The Gospel, dispensed through the Church, is God’s answer to this problem. The church has much to offer in the way of soul-care through Biblical Counseling.
Lay Counseling Training
Students will learn the basic fundamentals of Biblical counseling and how to apply these principles in real life. Students will learn to discern the root systems of problems and the Biblical approach to solving them.
Help Start A Counseling Ministry
The church has been involved in soul-care for centuries. In recent times, the church seems to have abdicated its responsibility and deferred soul-care to secular organizations and professionals. Now, churches are beginning to re-embrace soul-care. We can help.
Why Partner with Relational Impact Ministries?
The Importance of What We Do
What we do is important because:
- The local church is to be a place where soul-care is done, yet
- Most churches are not equipped to offer Biblical counseling.
- We offer specialized training to Believers that most local churches do not offer. Many churches are not equipped to train Biblical counselors.
- Our counseling is Biblically-based.
- God has called us to this ministry.
- God has uniquely gifted us to do this.
- There are over 1100 churches in the San Antonio area and less than 20 certified Biblical Counselors in the city.
- We work with senior pastors as men, Husbands, and Fathers. We focus on their spiritual, emotional, and relational health.
Believers are to be Equipped for the Work of Ministry.
One of the responsibilities of spiritual leadership is to equip Believers to do the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). Although individuals are gifted in different ways (Romans 12:6), God has designed the church to provide encouragement, support, and loving confrontation so that the church “grows up” and matures into Christ (Ephesians 4:15).
Galatians 6:1 instructs mature Believers to “restore” the brother who is “overtaken” with sin with gentleness and common sense. Even the most sincere Believer needs to be taught how to accomplish this needed and loving act. The church (individual Believers) is to carry out this ministry of restoring people as a part of the ongoing ministry of each local church. The equipping for this vital ministry falls upon the shoulders of church leadership. We can help.
Equipping Involves Learning
The Lord said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6). The need facing members of the Body of Christ is two-fold: 1. We need to know “what” God instructs in His Word regarding how we are to live and 2. we need to know “how” to apply what we learn to practical life situations. It is extremely important that Believers are trained in both of these critical areas.
The Need for Biblical Counseling is Growing
Biblical counseling approaches problems and solutions from a biblical worldview. The Bible provides guiding principles, encouragement, wisdom, and an array of beneficial resources which God has designed for our benefit and His glory. Biblical counseling addresses the challenges we face from a perspective of hope and assurance that God’s Word will guide us to fulfillment.
Biblical counseling achieves God’s desired objective because it adequately deals with mankind’s central problem—sin! Even the very best behavior modification and coping skills cannot get to the heart of the matter. You and I have a sin problem that has left us broken. This brokenness must be addressed. Until we are able to see how our sinfulness affects every area of our lives, we will stumble in the dark trying to figure out the reasons behind the struggles we face.
God has not left us without hope! He has given us all we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him… (2 Peter 1:3). God invites us to take Him at His Word. Rather than referring church members who experience personal, marriage, relationship, or physiological problem to so-called experts, we can rely on the Holy Spirit to lead us as we seek Him for the help we need. This does not mean we don’t need any help outside the church, it simply means that we need to reaffirm our faith in God as the Healer, Restorer, Forgiver, and all He has proclaimed Himself to be.
We realize the importance of helping Believers grow in their faith and learn to implement God’s Word into their lives. That is one reason we at Relational Impact Ministries are inviting you to join with us. We will endeavor to equip the church with practical tools, resources, and Biblical counseling.
